“The statistics show ever-increasing numbers of younger patients,” Franklin Rose tells CultureMap, “so while the special focuses on celebrity plastic surgery, I am interviewed on the cultural influence on younger people.”
Erica Rose, Dr. Franklin Rose, and Cindi Rose
Dr. Rose was interviewed for the Primetime slot alongside two patients, the 17-year-old Tracy Karp, who received a rhinoplasty, and 19-year-old Caitlin Clemmins.
“I gave her a beautiful breast augmentation,” Rose says. “We took her from an A cup to a full C cup when she was 19.”
The special explores the appropriateness of young people going under the knife, but Rose argues that he only selects patients who are emotionally stable, and stand to benefit from the self-esteem boost.
Bachelor Pad’s Ella Nolan Shows off her New Nose & Body by Dr. Franklin Rose
“Ella Nolan may have won that kissing contest, but she apparently wasn’t feeling too hot about herself while she watched it.” Says ‘So True? So False? at E-Online.
The veteran reality star — she appeared on the Jake season of the “Bachelor” last year before returning to the tube for “Bachelor Pad” — apparently wasn’t happy about how she appeared on screen: “TV magnifies all your flaws, and seeing my profile really bothered me.”
“After a 5½-hour operation that included rhinoplasty, breast implants and liposuction to slim her tummy, hips and thighs, Ella Nolan couldn’t be happier with her new body! “TV magnifies all your flaws, and seeing my profile really bothered me,” the single mom, who’s made it to the season finale, admits in an exclusive interview with Life & Style, on newsstands now. “And I’ve always wanted my breasts done. Before I got pregnant with my son, Ethan, about 10 years ago, my boobs were fabulous. They haven’t been the same since.”
Prepping for Surgery with Dr. Franklin Rose
Her plastic surgeon, Dr. Franklin Rose, who is also the dad of Ella’s fellow contestant Erica Rose, tells Life & Style that everything went smoothly. “We removed 3 liters of fat from her hips, thighs and lower abdomen,” Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Rose says. “That should bring her down at least four dress sizes. Her breasts, a small B, were enlarged to a large C-small D.”
Her transformation has been called “Heidi Montag-ish” by the Huffington Post and others, but we think her transformation is beautiful, and natural looking! What’s MOST important is that Ella is happy with her decision!
“I got everything I wanted. I feel incredible,” Ella says about her transformation, which she revealed at a photo shoot for Life & Style on Sept. 4. “I can’t stop touching my new boobs!”

Houston Celebrity Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Franklin Rose and Cindi Harwood Rose flew into New York for a family event that had them partying it up with the top stars on Broadway on February 27, 2012. They spent the evening hanging out with Grammy and Tony award winning Book of Mormon star Andrew Rannels. Franklin and Cindi were in town for Broadway Belts for Pulmonary Fibrosis and spent the evening rubbing shoulders with Oscar winning actorJoel Grey, Julie Halston, Tony nominee Adam Pascal (Memphis), Robert Creighton (Anything Goes), Lindsay Mendez (Godspell), Betsy Wolfe (Encores! Merrily We Roll Along), Heidi Blickenstaff (Now. Here. This.), and Julia Murney (Queen of the Mist/Wicked). Word has it that Andrew Rannels is slated to play a lead role in a new NBC sitcom in Fall 2012.
Julie Halston, star of the show, Anything Goes became a spokesperson for Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation when her husband became ill with the disease. The gathering of Broadway’s best performers raised more than $50,000.
“My best Valentine’s memory was when my husband and I got engaged in Aspen 30 years ago, and it was also my worst. We were en route by plane to visit his mom and dad, and he asked me to marry him before he asked them. His father was thrilled, and so was his sister, who said, “I will gain a wonderful sister-in-law.” Then, my (future) mother-in-law said, “Weddings are funerals, so I will wear a black dress.” I ran into a guest room and cried. Seven years later, after we had married, we separated and then divorced. Then, again, on a Valentine’s Day, he asked me once again to marry him! We ran to Vegas, and had so much fun getting married there, just the two of us. We have been married now over 14 more years. I must say, I now love my mother-in-law and she loves me. She was afraid of losing her baby boy, and in her mind, our wedding was a death. I can also say that love is better the second time around, and lucky me, to the same wonderful person, who is father of our only two children, Erica Rose 28, and Ben Harwood Rose, 26.
My funniest Valentine was when I was divorced, and wanted my children, who were then 4 and 6, to be with me on Valentine’s Day. I was 36, but found someone 10 years younger, who was like a kid himself. We went to AstroWorld, and rode the rides with my children, and some of their friends. My children thought this is what you do on Valentine’s Day — go to an amusement park, eat junk and ride rides. One of their friends ate too much candy, threw up while on the roller coaster and it splattered all over into the air.”

There is a fascinating story in this month’s Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery and in MedPage Today about perceived age and the length of the nose. A long nose with a droopy tip ages your appearance! Also, did you know that as you continue to age, your nose continues to grow and to droop along with your ears and the rest of your face? It’s true!

People who’d had their noses surgically reshaped had a somewhat more youthful appearance afterward — whatever their age, researchers said.
Independent raters who examined before-and-after photographs of mostly young and middle-age individuals undergoing cosmetic rhinoplasty indicated that, on average, the patients looked 1.5 years younger in the “after” pictures , according to Ali Sepehr, MD, and colleagues at the University of Toronto.
Patients’ age at the time of surgery had only a small effect on the apparent age reduction, the researchers reported.
The study involved 53 consecutive patients having cosmetic nose surgery in a large private practice, for whom frontal and right lateral images were available prior to the procedure and one year afterward.
Relatively large nasal tip rotations also boosted the younger look. The eight patients having tip rotations of more than 10° looked an average of 2.0 years younger, compared with 1.3 years lost among the other patients.
“Older patients tended to enjoy a greater degree of rejuvenation,” they wrote. But differences in the apparent age reduction failed to reach statistical significance (P=0.15) in a trend analysis comparing patients in their teens, those ages 20 to 40, and those older than 40.
The researchers noted that the primary goal of nose reshaping is generally to improve the overall facial aesthetic. “This finding [of apparent age reduction] can pleasantly surprise patients presenting for rhinoplasty,” Sepehr and colleagues wrote.
“The rejuvenating effect of rhinoplasty can now objectively be listed as one of the benefits of undergoing this procedure.”

Vienna Girardi Bachelor Pad
Many Hollywood stars refuse to age gracefully – instead choosing to go under the knife in an attempt to slow down Father Time. The Enquirer had top cosmetic surgeons analyze some of today’s hottest celebrities to get their professional opinions in a recent issue with Dr. Franklin Rose‘s patient Vienna Girardi making the cut:
“I love my new nose,” says “Bachelor” and “Bachelor Pad” vet VIENNA GIRARDI, who’s been wanting to change her big schnozz ever since she was 9. Now 25, the beauty decided the time was right when she got a look at the new nose of Bachelor Pad cast mate Erica Rose, compliments of her dad, Houston-based plastic surgeon Dr. Franklin Rose. Vienna made an appointment and, voila, a beautiful new nose from Dr. Rose.
